Physical Apostille Service

Our standard service takes 3-5 working days whilst our express service takes approx. 1-2 working days.

Please enter a number greater than or equal to 1.
Important information (FCDO guidance)
Please read the following to help avoid delays or rejection.

• Only send the documents you need legalised.
• Multiple signatures: If your document contains more than one eligible signature, you must tell us which signature you want legalised. If you do not specify, the most recent signature will be legalised.

Signatory contact details (required for some documents)
If your document is any of the following:
• An already certified document (e.g. certified by a solicitor or notary public, not our solicitor through our solicitor certification service)
• A medical document
• A marriage certificate (signed by a minister of religion or authorised person)

You must provide the signatory’s contact details, including:
• Email address
• Place of practice

This is essential in case the FCDO needs to verify the signature.

Signature date requirements (may be rejected)
If the signature is older than the timeframes below and the FCDO does not already have a matching record, the document may be rejected and refunded:
• Legal capacity (e.g. solicitor or notary public): older than 15 years
• Minister of Religion / Authorised Person / Secretary for Marriages: older than 50 years
• Registrar (General Register Office): older than 70 years

Laminated or hard-backed documents
The FCDO cannot legalise laminated or hard-backed documents because the apostille cannot be securely attached. The laminate/hard backing must be removed, or you must obtain a replacement document without these features.

Incomplete documents (multi-page)
If a document has multiple pages, you must submit all pages. Any pages referenced in a certification must also be included. Incomplete documents will not be accepted.

Reproductions of UK apostilles
If your document contains a reproduction of a UK apostille, it must not include the FCDO Seal or the FCDO official’s signature.

    Bundle Service Instructions

Please read and understand the text below before placing your order

This service is for legalising a set of documents under one apostille. All documents will be bound together under a cover sheet that will specify the documents included in the set and will be certified by our solicitor. Each set costs £159.99 each and takes approx. 5 working days.

You can only purchase one bundle service at a time. If you require multiple bundles, please complete the form for each bundle separately.

Notice 1: Bundle services can be a cheaper option than individually legalising each document however you need to make sure it will be acceptable by the country or organisation. Some countries such as the UAE does not accept bundles and requires each document to have an individual apostille. Please check with the institution you will be submitting the document in advance.

Notice 2: You cannot legalise government based documents such as birth certificates, death certificates, marraige certificates, ACRO certificates, DBS certificates or Court documents as these documents must have their own apostille.

This service is primarily useful for legalising educational or personal related documents in certain countries.

If you are unsure if your document is eligble or not please head to our contact page for a free consultation where our team will be able to assist you.

      E-Apostille Instructions

Please read before placing your e-Apostille order
This service includes both (1) Solicitor electronic certification of your document and (2) the FCDO e-Apostille.

      1) Documents that cannot be processed as an e-Apostille
The FCDO e-Apostille service does not accept the document types below. If your document falls into any of these categories, you must use the physical apostille service instead:

      • All General Register Office (GRO) documents, including: birth, death, marriage, civil partnership and adoption certificates
      • ACRO police certificates (England & Wales)
      • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificates (England & Wales)
      • Disclosure certificates (Scotland or Northern Ireland)
      • Fingerprint certificates
      • ACCA membership certificates (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)

      Why these documents are excluded
The organisations that issue these documents do not currently allow electronic copies to be legalised (some include physical security features and must be viewed in their original format).

      2) Check the overseas recipient will accept an e-Apostille
Before you order, please confirm with the intended overseas recipient that they will:
      • accept digital documents with an e-Apostille
      • require a separate e-Apostille for each document (if you are legalising more than one)
      • accept documents electronically signed by a UK solicitor or notary, or only by a notary

Important: e-Apostilles are only valid in digital form because they contain unique electronic signatures. An e-Apostille can be rejected if the recipient does not accept digital documents.

      3) File format and preparation requirements
To use the e-Apostille service, your document must be:
      • provided as a PDF file
      • suitable for electronic certification by our UK solicitor ensuring you are submitting a document of UK origin.

If you are submitting more than one document
      • If each document needs its own e-Apostille, you need to upload each one as a separate PDF and purchase the same number of services to the number of files.
      • If you combine multiple documents in a single PDF or upload multiple documents within a single order, we will issue one e-Apostille for those PDFs, and the documents will be shared together as one file.
      • A fee applies per e-Apostille service.

If you are unsure whether your document is eligible, contact us for a free consultation:
      https://apostillesolutions.co.uk/contact/

      E-Apostille Instructions check(Required)
I confirm that (1) my document is eligible for the FCDO e-Apostille service and is not one of the excluded document types listed above, (2) the intended overseas recipient will accept a digital e-Apostille and understands it is valid only in digital form, and (3) I have uploaded my document(s) in PDF format and understand that if each document needs its own e-Apostille, I must upload each as a separate PDF and purchase the same number of e-Apostille services as the number of files; otherwise, if I combine multiple documents into one PDF or purchase fewer services than files uploaded, only one e-Apostille will be issued and the documents must be shared together as one file (a fee applies per e-Apostille service).

        E-Certification Service Information

This service is for digital solicitor certification only. It does not include an e-Apostille.

If you require an e-Apostille, you have two options:
        • Purchase our e-Apostille service, which includes solicitor e-certification and the FCDO e-Apostille, or
        • Purchase e-certification only here, then submit your own e-Apostille application directly with the FCDO (if required).

        Pricing
Each digital solicitor certification costs £49.99 per document.

        File requirements
        • Your document must be uploaded in PDF format.
        • If you need separate certifications for multiple documents, upload each document as a separate PDF.
        • Do not combine multiple documents into a single PDF (unless you intend them to be treated as one certified file).

          Embassy Attestation Service

If you are unsure about which service is the right one for you, please feel free to contact us by email at info@apostillesolutions.co.uk

          UAE Embassy Attestation Service

Documents destined for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) require both a UK apostille and UAE Embassy attestation in the UK. Please read the information below before placing your order, or contact us if anything is unclear.

          1) Certification requirements (before apostille/attestation)
Your document may require solicitor certification if it is not an original government-issued document or signed by a public official.

Examples of original government-issued documents include: birth, death and marriage certificates, HMRC documents, and ACRO certificates.

          Power of Attorney (POA)
If you are submitting a Power of Attorney, it must be signed in front of a notary public before it can proceed. If you need to arrange a notary appointment, please contact us before ordering and we can help advise you to find one locally to you.

          2) Personal vs corporate document pricing
Fees differ depending on whether your document is:
          • Personal (e.g. individual documents), or
          • Corporate (e.g. Companies House documents, Certificate of Good Standing, business Powers of Attorney).

          3) How UAE attestation is issued (important)
UAE attestation is issued as a digital attestation (there is no physical UAE embassy stamp or certificate placed on your document).

          You will receive by email:
          • a digitally attested document (this is the official file for use in the UAE), and
          • a confirmation letter on Apostille Solutions letterhead explaining how to verify the attestation on the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal.

          4) Return of your physical documents
The digitally attested document is often issued before the UAE Embassy returns your physical paperwork. Your physical document will be returned to you with the apostille attached, and solicitor certification included where applicable. We will notify you again once your physical documents have been shipped.
