Yapese
Where is Yapese spoken
Yapese is spoken primarily on the island of Yap, which is part of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). The island of Yap is in the western Pacific Ocean and is one of the four states that make up the Federated States of Micronesia. Yapese is the native language of the people of Yap and is one of the several languages spoken in FSM.
While it is the predominant language on the island, it is also spoken by some people in nearby islands in the region. However, its usage is primarily confined to Yap itself. Despite the influence of English as the official language of the Federated States of Micronesia, Yapese remains an important part of the island’s cultural identity.
