Lingala
Where is Lingala spoken?
Lingala is spoken primarily in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Republic of the Congo. It is one of the four national languages of the DRC and serves as a lingua franca in the western part of the country, particularly in the capital Kinshasa and other major cities.
Lingala is also spoken by smaller communities in neighbouring countries, including Angola, where it is used in the northern regions near the border with the DRC.
The language is widely used in popular music, especially Congolese music, and has many speakers across different ethnic groups in Central Africa.
