Certificate of Incorporation

What format is required for the apostille:

Only the original certificate that has been signed by a Companies House official or a Solicitor to certify the Document is acceptable for the apostille.

Does the document require solicitor certification:

The signature on the original must be a wet ink signature. It is possible to get a certificate of incorporation with just a printout of the signature. In this case the document will need to be solicitor certified as well. Solicitor certified photocopies are acceptable.

You may have heard that two different apostille kinds exist:

• Paper-based – you must mail your paperwork.
• “E-Apostille” – You can upload documents as PDF files that a UK notary or solicitor has digitally signed to obtain an electronic apostille.

But note that a Certificate of Incorporation are eligible for an e-Apostille but will require solicitor certification as a result.
