What is Attestation from the Egyptian Embassy?

Attestation is a procedure to confirm the validity of the seal and signature on documents issued in the UK or abroad. It is a service provided by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs via its embassies and consulates abroad.

Please note the following before placing your order or reaching out with questions:

Personal Documents: Examples include birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates, and powers of attorney. These must be apostilled by the FCDO before submission to the embassy.
Employment or Experience Certificates: Must be notarised by a Notary Public and explicitly verified as authentic before being apostilled.
Translations or Copies: Both the original document and the copy must be apostilled before attestation.
Power of Attorney: Must be signed in the presence of a notary public.
Turnaround times may vary depending on the nature of the document and embassy processing.

Note: We do not process educational documents for Egyptian Embassy attestation.

Document Types

Personal Documents: Includes but is not limited to birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates, and powers of attorney.

Corporate Documents: Includes but is not limited to contracts or agreements, commercial registrations, appointment of a manager or director, and minutes of meetings of board of directors or partners.

Origin of Document

If the document is issued from Egypt: Document(s) MUST BE attested by the necessary governing authority or Ministry in Egypt.

If the document is issued outside Egypt (Issued in the UK): Document(s) MUST BE legalised by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in the UK.
